This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or contact us, why we collect it, and what you can do to control it. We keep it short and plain so you know exactly where you stand.
Who we are
We are Zuarc, a company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria. We build websites and apps, run customer experience support, and provide virtual assistance for businesses in Nigeria and abroad, including the United Kingdom. When this policy says "we" or "us" it means Zuarc. When it says "you" it means anyone who visits our site or contacts us.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us. When you fill in our contact form or send us a WhatsApp enquiry, we may receive:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Details about your business and the service you are asking about
- Anything else you write in your message
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you give us. We do not ask for sensitive information, and please do not send us passwords or payment card details through the form.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry and answer your questions
- Prepare quotes and carry out work you ask us to do
- Keep a record of our conversations and agreements with you
- Send you our newsletter, if you asked for it
We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not use it for anything you would not expect.
How we store it and who can see it
When you send us an enquiry through the contact form, it reaches us as an email. Newsletter sign ups are stored with our email provider. Only members of the Zuarc team who need your information to reply to you or do your work can see it. We take reasonable steps to keep it safe, but no method of sending or storing data online is ever completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Third party services we use
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run our site and communicate with you. Each one only receives the information it needs to do its job.
- Website hosting. Our hosting provider stores and serves the pages of this site.
- Resend. We use Resend to deliver contact form messages to our inbox and to store newsletter subscriber emails. Resend is based in the United States.
- Supabase. We use Supabase as the database for our blog and to sign our own team in to the private admin area of the site. It does not hold the enquiries you send us.
- Meta. We keep pages on Facebook and Instagram and use WhatsApp for enquiries. If you contact us there, Meta handles those messages under its own terms.
We do not currently run any analytics or advertising tracking on this site, and the Meta advertising pixel is not installed. If we add any of these in future, we will update this policy first.
WhatsApp and social media
Our site has a button that opens a chat with us on WhatsApp, and links to our social media pages. When you message us on WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram, your message is handled by Meta on its own servers and under its own privacy terms, as well as by us. We only see what you send us in the chat.
Cookies
Our public pages do not set tracking cookies. The only cookies we use keep our own team signed in to the private admin area. You can read the full details in our Cookie Policy.
How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to reply to you and to keep a record of any work we do together. If you become a client, we keep the details of our agreement for as long as the law requires us to keep business records. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
Your rights
If you are in Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 gives you rights over your personal information. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you similar rights. In both cases you can:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to stop using your information for a particular purpose
- Withdraw your consent to our newsletter at any time
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Nigeria this is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Access, correction, and deletion
To see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, email us at info@zuarc.com. We will confirm your request and respond as quickly as we can. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our services or the law change. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page. Please check back now and then so you stay informed.
